Sitkari Pranayam

Sit in a Asana firmly. Put the tongue between the lips. Do Puraka through slight opening of lips with a hissing sound. When the Puraka is over draw the tongue inside and perform Kumbhaka with Jalandhara Bandha and Mula Bandha. The ratio of Puraka: Kumbhaka: Rechaka is 1:4:2. When the Kumbhaka is over release Jalandhara Bandha and Mula Bandha, slowly exhale through both the nostrils. At the end of Rechaka, Uddiyana Bandha should be performed.

Benefits of Sitkari Pranayam:

By the practice of Sitkari pranayama body temperature is decreased and comes to normality. Body becomes very beautiful by the practice of this Pranayama. If this Pranayama is done only 3 or 4 times thirst and fatigue are pacified. In the summer this can be practiced more. Sleepiness and lethergy can be overcome by this practice. Practitioner becomes strong and beautiful.
